The EP Kings and Chippa United are
finding the going extremely tough in
the early stages of their league
campaigns in the top flight. Currie Cup
Premier Division Rugby and Premier
League Soccer are two entities which
are traditionally brutal on the new
kids on the block and 2014 has proved
no exception. Its certainly not for lack
of effort but the EP Kings had
managed just one bonus point and no
victories in their four matches up until
the end of August. Chippa United had
fared marginally better with a morale
boosting season-opening win over
Platinum Stars. Then, after three
successive defeats they were in the
points again, drawing one-all at home
to Ajax Cape Town. Heartbreaking for
the Chilli Boys, however, was Ajax
grabbing a last minute equaliser for a
shareofthespoils.
Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium is home
of course to both Chippa United and
the EP Kings and it was an interesting
occasion, to say the least, to see the
two camps share the microphone
