New figures released at the 10th Asia Pacific AIDS Conference in Busan, South Korea,show,70percentofnewinfections in the Philippines are in MSM; in Delhi, India, one in five MSM are thought HIV positive; and in Indonesia, one in four transgender people are estimated to be infectedwiththevirus. In Bangkok, Thailand, an estimated 30percentofMSMareHIVpositive,with research showing a 10 percent annual infectionrateinmenagedunder25. In both Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Jakarta, Indonesia prevalence has tripledsince2008. Reports suggest the register would offer an alternative to marriage for gay, lesbian and transgendercouples. According to the Cairns Post, an alliance of local support groups is working with the council on the register asawayofprovidingofficialrecognitionof same-sexrelationships. Proponents say it would provide a sense of wellbeing for same-sex couples and provide a legal mechanism to make it easier for them to prove their relationship. Similar relationship registers already exist in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania on both a state and local government level. Queensland does not have a statewideregister. Creasey, who was the guest speaker at the launch of a new local support group DYNAMIC (Diverse Youth Networking Against Discrimination In Colac), said he and his three friends were specifically targeted as they left the Straight Shooters pool hall on Murray St where the event was held. QueerOutWestwillhavebeenbroadcasting on 2GLF for a decade in December, but its future after that is unclear after the station was issued an eviction notice from the council-owned Liverpool School of the Arts. The station had known the move was coming, but council had previously assured the station that a new home would be found for it, with the Casula Powerhouse, Liverpool Museum and Liverpool Skate Rink named as possible sites. But council officers have now told 2GLF the “council cannot offer any alternative premises to the radio station”. 2GLF chair Eddie Diwakar said he was at a loss to explain the reversal. “Council had always said it would off
