City of Saratoga Recreation Department 408. 868. 1249 www. saratoga. ca. us/recreation 21 Teens & Community Programs CPR HEARTSAVERS/AED – CERTIFICATION COURSE Heartsaver AED is specifically designed for persons who are required to obtain a course certification card documenting completion of a CPR course. In this skills-based class, you will be trained in the new “2010 Science of CPR” & “Relief of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction. ” You’ll demonstrate the proper technique & sequence of CPR on an unconscious victim. Instruction & hands-on-training, while using an AED, will be included for adults & children over 1 year of age after which you will receive your two-year certification card. Each student will receive their own personal key chain pocket mask/barrier & will be able to practice using it on a CPR manikin. This class does not include a BLS Healthcare Provider card. For youth, we have "Leafy & Literary:From Seed to Poem" (p.5), "Beginning Vocal Performance Workshop" (p.7) and Archery (p.9). For adults, there's the early morning fitness class, "Before-Work Workout," (p.22) "Classical Ballet,"(p.28) and "Singles Cooking with Berna" (p.33).
