Marchers remade the shortlived pedestrian crossing with chalk over a blocked-off Oxford St ahead of a vote in Parliament that could legalise samesex marriage next week. Some of Australia’s leading LGBTI rights advocates, including former High Court justice Michael Kirby and pioneering academic Dennis Altman, are concerned about the direction of the country’s queer rights movement.
