With another school year now upon us, there can be no more important time for officers with the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to urge drivers to slow down and to watch for school buses all in an effort to keep our children safe. Drivers are reminded that officers will be closely monitoring school zones and school buses so please be prepared to stop, in both directions, when a school bus is stopped with their overhead lights flashing. Even multi-lane roadways such as Highway 9 and 10 and Regional Road 50 require all drivers to stop for the school bus in both directions. United Way and the Region of Peel offer neighbourhood development grants United Way of Peel Region and the Region of Peel are jointly offering grants of up to $15,000 to resident groups and charities interested in improving the quality of neighbourhood life in Peel. The Neighbourhood Development grants totalling $300,000 aim to give Peel residents an opportunity to partner with local agencies and businesses to create resident-led projects that enhance the quality of neighbourhood life. “The Neighbourhood Development grants were launched in 2008 as part of United Way’s poverty reduction strategy,” explains United Way CEO Shelley White. “The grants give residents an opportunity to identify priority

Take a unique sightseeing trip on our old English trolley to heritage destinations in picturesque Caledon. Listen to the sounds of grassroots live entertainment. Enjoy the beautiful landscape along the Trans Canada Trail. Visit the outdoor art exhibitors, fresh food market and café and share in the laughter of the day!
